Oceanographic/Paleoclimatic projects and expeditions
2018-2023: Selected to participate as calcareous nannofossil biostratigrapher at IODP Exp 387, Amazon Margin (postponed) and IODP Exp 395, Reykjanes Ridge (June-August 2023). 60 days on board the R/V Joides Resolution.
2017: POS 513 Time series and lateral facies changes of Pleistocene to Holocene tephras from highly explosive eruptions at the Hellenic volcanic arc, Aegean Sea. 16 days on board R/V POSEIDON. Training in recognition of eruptive events and sapropel layers in sediment cores.
2014-2016: THALES-AEGEANMARTEC Technological and Oceanographic cooperation network for the study of mechanisms fertilizing the N.E. Aegean Sea. Shore-based participation during Bachelor and Master thesis.
2015: KRIPIS Development of an integrated management system for river basin, coastal and marine zones. Ecological evaluation using benthic foraminifera taxonomy and ecology. Student summer project.
2015: EUROFLEETS Collection of in situ bio-optical measurements to support remote sensing applications for operational environmental monitoring and climate studies in the Black Sea. Oceanographic cruise, 12 days on board R/V Akademik (Black Sea). Water sampling for estimation of phytoplankton abundances.
2016: ASTARTE Seismic profiles and seafloor mapping of the SE Aegean fault zones. Oceanographic cruise, 10 days on board R/V Med Surveyor (Aegean Sea). Training in seismic profiling and seafloor mapping.
